Peter Pan

Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet
Akron Civic Theatre

March 8 & 9, 2008

“All children, except one, grow up.”….and so the children’s classic story of Peter Pan, written by Scottish writer J.M. Barrie begins. Join the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet in Neverland this spring as we bring the magic of dance to J.M. Barrie’s classic children’s tale Peter Pan. Audiences of all ages will delight in the enchanting story of a mischievous boy named Peter who refuses to grow up. The three Darling children, Wendy, Jon, and Michael, a helpful fairy named Tinker Bell, and of course the dastardly Captain Hook and his pirates round out this cast of beloved characters.

Returning to Barrie’s original vision of Peter Pan as a stage production, The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet is very proud to interpret this wonderful story in classic dance, of young love and eternal youth.

This Storybook Series world premiere features original choreography by former Boston Ballet principal dancer Laszlo Berdo, set to the rousing score of Le Corsaire by Georges Bizet. A wicked pirate ship, exciting sword fighting, and beautiful custom-designed costumes promise to engage and entertain one and all.

Bring the entire family to the historic Akron Civic Theatre on March 8th at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm and March 9th at 2:30 pm. Reserved seating tickets are now available through Ticketmaster or by calling the Akron Civic Theatre Box Office at 330.253.2488.
